Sources say, this time, Mazda is looking at a new 18,000 mile powertrain warranty to spur sales. But it may be ruled out in favor of a 12,000 mile powertrain warranty due to anticipated cost.

A/W: Mazda rotary is back
Re: A/W: Mazda rotary is back
I guess I laud the passion but the rotary appears to be a poor engineering solution to the requirements on today's engines.“People think rotary can not meet modern eco demands. The SkyActiv engineers worked on rotary and have it cutting-edge tech,” Kiyoshi Fujiwara, Mazda’s head of research and development, told Autocar. “It is an essential part of our DNA, and it must be passed onto future engineers. It is synonymous with the brand. Sometime in the future it will return and be called SkyActiv-R.”
Re: A/W: Mazda rotary is back
I really like Mazda, but seriously, after the RX-8, who is asking for a new rotary?
They should partner with GM since Ford ditched them, and put LS motors in everything as an option.

Re: A/W: Mazda rotary is back
This thread naturally had me searching the internet for LSX-powered FDs.
Re: A/W: Mazda rotary is back
I guess I was referring to the Miata and RX-7. I wouldn't mind an AWD LS powered MazdaSpeed3. They could use the LS4 for like $400 on ebay... That would be the most badass rally car ever!
