Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
Well you'd have to get some kind of warranty, which is why Doug paid $40k, not $15k. And you still need to worry about resale.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
Their pre-owned warranty is limited to 5 year old* vehicles or younger. It is "unlimited mileage" though.Bob wrote:Maybe I should one up Doug at his own game. Check this out: http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/5467744618.html I had no idea these were so cheap now.

Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
They also have a "limited" version for 6 year old cars, but only if it has less then 80k.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
And you would need to buy it from a dealer.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
I think Doug should man up and buy something like this craigslist Maserati. Warranties are for the weak of heart.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
You really do like it when others do exactly the opposite that your common sense would suggest.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
which is why I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of your 2000 750il with 200k.
Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
Sounds like this Maserati was actually kind of a driver's car: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons ... rsa-page-2

Goddamn that thing is ugly. It looks like Homer's bubble car.
Ooo, sporting!
It's ok, though, it was only $90k in 2004 (for a useless coupe that is barely faster than my CTS-V and gets much worse MPG, with less reliability, and is less than 100 lbs lighter than my CTS-V - and the used example you posted is in CTS-V1 territory anyway).

And yet, the Italians continue to blow it on mechanicals. Why??Highs:
Drives like a sporting car, sounds like a sporting car, steering feels all-natural like a sporting car's.
Couldn't put the seat in straight? Unsmooth drivability when cold? Valve lifters pump up on skidpad??? That one I don't even understand. I could see losing oil pressure and pumping down, but up?Lows:
Driving position only a little awkward; lumpy engine when it's cold, valve lifters pump up on skidpad.

Re: Doug DeMuro buys Aston Martin
Should we consider this proof that the free market works when it comes to used car values?kevm14 wrote:and the used example you posted is in CTS-V1 territory anyway
