12.3 sec @ 118 mph !!

Man that LT1 is potent. This on a car that is only 132 lbs lighter than my CTS-V with only 55 more hp.

I think it is SAE. Maybe just "a strong example" if that is still really a thing with modern manufacturing practices.

This thing looks good. Lean and muscular. Not cartoonish.

Yeah, I think it looks good in that color. The new generation is starting to grow on me.

What is your torque? The LT1 is 455/455 HP/Torque right?

The new LT1 is: Our LT1 crate engine is rated at 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque according to http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/cr ... .html#dyno

The LT1 has always been up to 460/465 in the Stingray.

Do you think there is really a difference or is this just GM keeping the superiority of the Corvette intact? I mean a 5 HP underrating isn't as egregious as the turbo V6s in the 80s, but it's still kind of interesting to see.

The exhaust manifolds are different and the Camaro uses a Tri-Y and the Corvette may use a 4 into 1 like the LS7. I mean, you can find 5 hp by reducing intake temps like 5 degrees on these engines. I feel comfortable calling them the same and the 5 hp rating between them doesn't offend me even if they were exactly the same.

Yeah, at this level 5 HP is barely more than a 1% difference so it's hardly worth worrying about.
