I'm really only posting this for the comments section. The winner is:
Why would anyone get this over the Rondo? Or anything other than a Rondo for that matter? Nothing else is needed.

I knew this was related to the Rondo somehow. But is that person being snarky? I'm not following...
oh come on, you're still asking this question now that crossovers are basically outselling sedans? And I'm not sure I could take the blank stares after admitting, "I own a Rondo."
Haha, blank stares. That seems about right.

Damn.
15.1 sec @ 94 mph
My SRX isn't fast enough now. Whelp, too bad. No plans to upgrade that.

But really, here's the lame mid 2000s small crossover that wins the sleeper award:

Annoyingly, C/D seems to have made an error with the specs PDF - I can't see the performance data. I assume somewhere in the 15 @ 94 range though. Fully 10 years earlier than this Kia.

Wasn't that V6 RAV4 the fastest thing Toyota made for a while, or am I just imagining that?

Another Rondo-related anecdote: our 15 month old daughter saw a Lexus RX330 while we were out for a walk and said, "mommy's car." I'll take that as a compliment for the Rondo.
