So it has decent performance and gets lousy fuel economy. I think we've seen this show before. I really would like to see this directly compared to a GM truck with the 6.2L, for everything: power, drivability, towing, fuel economy, sound, whatever you can think of. For similar results, I think I'd rather have the pushrod V8.
Also, this is annoying:
It's not that the bed is big in terms of what is available on trucks, but it is big compared to what people actually need. Case in point: my Ranger swallowed 26 bags of mulch plus a bag of peat moss, which is both more volume and weight that you could probably accommodate in any crossover (for example), but is pretty small for a truck.I took this visually loud pickup for round two of baby shower mania over the weekend and I can safely say it’ll fit a Mercedes E-Class in the bed. It’s a Power Wheels version of a Mercedes E-Class, but still.
The cargo area looked small to me at first glance, but I think that’s just because of the giant cab this thing has. On Saturday I filled up the bed, rear seats and passenger seats with all things baby related and didn’t even have to get creative, except when guessing what all these, swings, slides, toys and cloths are supposed to be for.
Back to the F-150: just don't say it can fit an E-class Mercedes. It's not that big. It's a 5-1/2 foot bed.
In terms of the chassis, I've been harping on this for a while:
That shimmy is the bed shaking. You can see it when you follow any F-150.I didn’t haul or tow anything, I just drove it. Like all the 150s I’ve been in, it drives lighter than it looks like it would or should (I suppose it IS something like 700 pounds lighter than the old 150, if memory serves), and rides decently considering the empty bed and the solid axle. I’ve said before though and I stand by it: The chassis doesn’t feel as solid as the Ram or GM’s big pickups. There’s an extra shimmy with the Ford you just don’t feel in the competition.
