Yeah look at this thing! Not bad at all. Ride looks a little choppy but he does auto-x so that's something.
·The Chevy Cruze doesn't get enough credit for being as good as it is. It's fundamentally a taut chassis that, with the proper upgrades, can be a really fun daily driver that you can take to the track or autocross with confidence. The options for modification are more than you expect, and we find Jerry's Cruze Eco strikes a nice balance for a fun, well rounded economy car.

Just in case certain people think I am being ridiculous...

I am not saying the first gen Cruze was the top platform in the segment. Only that you can build on the platform to make a fun car. It doesn't need to be best in segment for that to be possible, which is what Matt is actually saying. Over 40 mpg plus some handling fun isn't the worst thing. The Eco was one of the first cars in the past 5 years to start breaking into the 40s and I am sure they are not expensive used.
