Cadillac US sales back to 2010:
2010 146,925
2011 152,389
2012 149,782
2013 182,543
2014 170,750
2015 175,267
2016  170,006
2017 YTD * 141,136

Lincoln US sales back to 2010:
2010 85,828
2011 85,643
2012 82,150
2013 81,694
2014 94,474
2015 101,227
2016 111,724
2017 YTD * 100,540

I think we've been here once before. Is Cadillac supposed to be chasing Lincoln here? That was rhetorical.

Which outperforms the following brands:
Acura
Infiniti
Lincoln
Mitsubishi
Volvo
Land Rover
Porsche
Tesla
Mini
Jaguar
Fiat
Genesis
Maserati
Alfa Romeo
Smart
Bentley

However, the following brands sell more cars than Cadillac:
Ford

Honda
Nissan
Jeep
Hyundai
Subaru
Kia
Ram
GMC
Dodge
Mercedes-Benz ^
Volkswagen
BMW
Lexus

A little less on topic but I have the data sitting in front of me.

Automaker US sales YTD. GM has a lot of brands and so it is penalized in terms of per-brand sales. You'll notice where they sit at a US automaker level. #1.

General Motors 2,693,702
Ford Motor Company 2,334,290
Toyota Motor Corporation 2,211,530
FCA/Chrysler Group 1,899,701
Hyundai-Kia 1,550,423
Honda Motor Company 1,492,112
Nissan Motor Company 1,455,238
Subaru 584,614
Volkswagen Group * 563,511
Daimler 335,895
BMW-Mini 313,926
Mazda 262,577
Jaguar-Land Rover 102,939
Volvo 71,828
Tesla 49,820

FCA ought to be ashamed that Toyota squeezed them out as #3. Hell, they're coming after Ford, too. They used to be called the Big 3. At least GM and Ford are still #1 and #2.

Chevrolet 1,859,079
Honda 1,352,572
Nissan 1,318,202
Jeep 755,317
Hyundai 603,297
Subaru 584,614
Kia 546,629
Ram 506,914
GMC 496,541
Dodge 419,111
Mercedes-Benz ^ 332,990
Volkswagen 309,395
BMW 271,432
Lexus 267,671
Mazda 262,577
Audi 199,534
Buick 196,946
Chrysler 171,337
Cadillac 141,136
Acura 139,540
Infiniti 137,036
Lincoln 100,540
Mitsubishi 95,185
Volvo 71,828
Land Rover 66,759
Porsche 51,507
Tesla 49,820
Mini 42,494
Jaguar 36,180
Fiat 24,754
Genesis 18,664
Maserati 12,271
Alfa Romeo 9,997
Smart 2,905
Bentley 2,107

So Ford outsells any other brand. GM outsells any other automaker.

Also of note, Mercedes is the highest selling luxury brand.

In fact, here are the luxury brands (this is my list, mind you), YTD sales:
Mercedes-Benz ^ 332,990
BMW 271,432
Lexus 267,671
Audi 199,534
Chrysler 171,337
Cadillac 141,136
Acura 139,540
Infiniti 137,036
Lincoln 100,540
Volvo 71,828
Land Rover 66,759
Porsche 51,507
Tesla 49,820
Jaguar 36,180
Genesis 18,664
Maserati 12,271
Alfa Romeo 9,997
Bentley 2,107

So Cadillac is #6 out of #18. Anyway, just take this into account when we discuss what's popular, what's selling, who has a sales problem and so on. Also, I hesitated to put Chrysler on this list but I did anyway just so you could see.

Let me sort by what I consider to be mainstream luxury brands. I guess I mean mainly that they have cheaper models available in the range but also higher end ones.

Mercedes-Benz ^ 332,990
BMW 271,432
Lexus 267,671
Audi 199,534
Chrysler 171,337
Cadillac 141,136
Acura 139,540
Infiniti 137,036
Lincoln 100,540
Volvo 71,828
Tesla 49,820
Jaguar 36,180
Genesis 18,664
Alfa Romeo 9,997

Shrinks to 14 brands. And Cadillac moves #6 out of 14. Though even as I slice the data, that is still in the top 50%. And I really am tempted to remove Chrysler. They are not a luxury brand. In which case Cadillac is #5 of 13 which is not terrible.

Chrysler should be removed. They only have two vehicles in their lineup now: The 300 and the Pacifica. Of these two, the 300 could be considered a luxury car.

Now I will pull in some trend analysis.

Large luxury cars, YTD YOY growth (how many sold this year to date, vs how many were sold last year to this same date)

Genesis G90 890.6 %
Porsche Panamera 43.7 %
Tesla Model S † 9.1 %
BMW 6-Series -17 %
Mercedes-Benz S-Class -20.8 %
Audi A8 -21.6 %
Lexus LS -22.8 %
Maserati Quattroporte -26.4 %
Jaguar XJ -27.7 %
BMW 7-Series -29.6 %

You'll notice only 3 actually had growth.

Now for midsize luxury. Notice that they put the Tesla Model 3 in this group. Not in the "EV car for everyone" group. This is where Tesla is positioning the car.

Volvo S90 380.2 %
Lincoln Continental 216 %
Genesis G80 204.9 %
Cadillac CT6 23.2 %
BMW 5-Series 18.6 %
Infiniti Q70 1.4 %
Volvo V90 0 %
Tesla Model 3 0 %
Mercedes-Benz E / CLS-Class -0.3 %
Lincoln MKZ -10 %
Lexus ES -11 %
Audi A6 -14 %
Acura RLX -18.3 %
Cadillac XTS -21 %
Maserati Ghibli -21.9 %
Audi A7 -24.2 %
Jaguar XF -32.1 %
Cadillac CTS -32.9 %
Kia K900 -44.3 %
Lexus GS -49.4 %
Lincoln MKS -96.8 %
Volvo S80 -99 %
Volvo XC70 -100 %

Remember, like with the Continental, it went on sale during the latter half of 2016 so sales this year to date will be substantially higher. The percentage does NOT take that into account. Actually, that applies to everything above the 5-series. Everything else declined. The CTS concerns me, though it is getting old so that does tend to slow sales.
