Gotta love it.

He's gonna do one rod, ARP head studs and LS9 head gaskets. Why head gaskets? Because he's reused these ones a bunch of times. Should be ready for more abuse. Sloppy at his finest.
Why ARP head studs? Because he is getting a set for free.

He found almost invisible bends on 3 other rods. Only way he found out was via dial indicator. Odd thing was it was all on one bank. They were only bent like 10 thousandths.

So I guess maybe coolant got into the cylinder and squeezed the rods on that bank - and the really bent one just had more coolant. That makes sense. As crazy as it sounds, I think the Gen IV rods are known to handle over 1000 rwhp. With 260k rod bearings, of course. Because Sloppy Mechanics.

Then again, 1000 rwhp through an unlocked 4L80E on his dyno is probably pushing 1100 or 1200 or more on someone else's or with a more efficient trans. So the engine itself is probably putting out even bigger numbers than what the chassis dyno reflects.

A trans video?? Uh oh did he blow his first 4L80E?

Nope, just something you need to do with a triple disc lockup clutch. It uses fluid pressure to stay released and without this mod some fluid pressure seeps through and partially applies the clutch. His symptoms were stalling in reverse and drive. Which he thought was his tune until he did some research. Apparently the TransGo HD2 kit instructions say to drill this hole....so....he should have drilled it.

What's hilarious to me is if this were, say, a 4L60E I think it would have been dead some time ago just from the heat created. Meanwhile this is handling 1000 rwhp on stock hard parts (shift kit is just valve body stuff).

Man i want to do an LS turbo now just to experience 4L80E greatness. The fact that they came bolted to so many awesome truck engines (mainly the LQ4) and is as bulletproof as the engine is even more hilarious to me.

Trouble hitting 1000 wheel. First a melted, leaking MAP sensor. Then his boost controller wouldn't make more than 21 psi. He has good static compression and even temp variation. May have busted some ring lands because it probably spiked to something way too high when the MAP sensor was malfunctioning. Another Sloppy mystery. This is the fun part.
