$95 worth of drill bits

Post by kevm14 »

I went to Sears to see if they stocked new skid shoes for my snow blower. They do. But instead of those, I bought these:

I have broken a couple of my drill bits over the years, and from experience I can say that cheap drill bits are not cost effective in terms of time and hassle. It's not that cheap bits take longer, it's that they don't cut and end up work hardening what you were trying to drill. So these cobalt ones ought to last a while. They were $60.

I was planning on buying a Harbor Freight stepped drill bit but saw this on the shift discounted to $30 and couldn't resist. I've always wanted to try them.
