As I view more of these from AutoMoments, I have to admit they have a well-written consistency to them.

And this one is no exception. He manages to provide a comprehensive overview of the car and make a couple of key points all under 7 minutes.

I guess my favorite key point is what Lincoln has been doing since the LS (which wasn't a bad car but was upstaged when the 2003 CTS hit the scene). He reminds the viewer that Lincoln shifted back to FWD-based platforms (as if they had a choice - they are Ford after all), while the rest of the world capitalized on the resurgence of RWD-based platforms.

That said, Mercedes I think is doing well with the FWD-based CLA. But I think the factors are different. When a premium automaker such as MB moves down market, of course sales will be good unless they totally screw up the car. I will also give them credit that the performance of the CLA 45 AMG is actually very good. And I'm not talking about 0-60.

The wiki has this to say:
The CLA-Class has been a controversial vehicle among some of Mercedes-Benz biggest fans as it isn't much like the other cars by the German automaker.[51] In contrast to most Mercedes models sold in the U.S., the CLA is small, based on a front-wheel drive platform, and powered exclusively by four-cylinder engines.[52] Called as a new "gateway" into the Mercedes-Benz brand with sales "beyond our optimistic expectations" by Mercedes-Benz,[53][54] Consumer Reports rate the CLA as "140% worse than the average car" in the 2014 Annual Auto Reliability Survey.[55]
Sales are good, reliability is bad. Shocking. /Because German cars.
