This would be cool except it started life as a 700 hp car that cost $64k and can run low 11s @ 125, stock. And this one is fast. 9s is fast, though this is only trapping 10-15 mph more than stock. And it took a 150 shot and race gas. And the ZF8HP does not sound happy, but who knows.
For $10k you can put together a car that also runs these exact times (and would still be capable of more), and doesn't need nitrous OR race gas. And thank god for Sloppy Mechanics. Conventional wisdom would have said "if you think you are running even 10s on anything less than $25k, you have never been to a dragstrip." Thank god that has been repeatedly proven wrong. Thank god for Matt Happel.
I understand the Challenger is a modern car with creature comforts, but its prime mission is muscle, not luxury or handling.
It's not a Mopar thing, either. I never asked for the fastest factory stock 1/4 mile time. Get back to me when a used Hellcat is $12k. Never gonna happen, because old guys.
