Speaking of wagons, AW has another article about the Cruze wagon. The ultimate enthusiast's choice, of course, would be the wagon plus the 151hp turbo diesel and a manual trans.

It actually looks pretty nice, and while being compact doesn't really sacrifice wagon-ness for a heavily sloping roofline.
Maybe 5 years after the Malibu Maxx that I still haven't bought for Jamie, a used Cruze diesel wagon would be available.
