A/W: CT6 2.0T driving impressions

Apparently the 2.0T causes them to ask what the point of the car is.

That's not to say the car isn't a high achievement, or very good to drive. The 2.0T weighs in at an almost-unbelievable 3,657 lbs. For a car midway between a 5 and 7 series in size. Reminder that this is on Omega, not Alpha.

Fair enough:
Moving from inside to under the hood, I’m with Wes that this engine provides just enough power, but the sound of four has a lot to be desired. At high rpm it whines mostly and the paddle shifters don’t do much to make it feel any faster. Even in sport mode it’s just quick enough to not be annoying. I did, however, think this was the base 3.6-liter V6 before looking at the specs, so I guess it impressed a little. The new 400-hp twin turbo-six is the engine to get in this car -- anything else would be uncivilized.

If Cadillac is to be viewed as premium, it shouldn't make any configurations less than premium. I know other luxury companies do, but Cadillac doesn't have to. This 2.0 T setup is in enough other GM stuff to recoup the R&D for it. Cadillac should only make exceptional configurations. Otherwise, the lower variants will be bought more and that will be the norm. GM has Buick for these lower to mid luxury configurations. Cadillac step up, and you better make the CT8 regardless of demand.
