I got several e-mail messages telling me to do so for my personal e-mail. Now that I did it, it is re-downloading all my e-mail from the server. I believe they made a protocol change, and may actually be using real Exchange now which is cool I guess.
But there's one change I noticed immediately. There is now apparently a 50GB allocation for free Outlook accounts. I don't know if it was really unlimited before, but I assumed it was and treated it as if it was (I have e-mails back to 1997, that I have carefully migrated from my various POP3 clients over the years).
It says I have 41GB free now but I am curious what it will say when everything has synchronized. I guess this is the end of unlimited free e-mail, though 50GB is a tremendous amount.
