Prediction: Camaro wins in every single performance category there is. Mustang wins on, like, specialness or whatever. Meh. We'll see.

Best part: when they showed the lap times and we finally saw that the SS 1LE lap tied, down to the hundredth, as the GT350R. That's right. I predicted years ago that the SS 1LE could give the GT350R a run for its money. Hang on honey, I'm up on the computer late 'cause someone on the internet is wrong!!

The problem with ranking is that you can live with the ZL1 on a daily basis, while the GT350R is unbearable after two hours, yet the Camaro is still faster. Typically reviewers favor the car that walks this tight rope the best, but it seems they punished the Camaro for delivering the best of both worlds.
I kind of had the same thought. For years this was the standard of excellence.

For the record I believe the GT350R has one notch better performance category tires.

Haha, there may be some truth to this.
Not true at all, real car people point out the problems with any car. I like Chevy but i know at 100k miles the map light switch will break and the seat will be smashed down and the radio buttons will be iffy but knowing that i still buy them because the drive line and suspension are what actually matters and i know my car will last 200K without any problems that actually affect my ability to drive the car , but i also know on an equal Ford ridiculous problems will happen like spark plugs popping out of the heads or one of the many other crazy problems ford get and when it does break the part cost 3x more then Chevy, so i put up with Chevys lousy trim that falls apart because the important part work like they should.

This is kind of apples and oranges if you think about it. The Mustang is set on full kill, with racier tires, no back seat, loud and hard ride. The Camaro ZL1 (non-1LE) is something you'd drive daily and split the difference between a comfortable car when you want it to be, and an animal when you want it to be. In the same spirit of a Porsche 911.

That said I think, like the last generation, the SS 1LE is the optimal overall Camaro to get.

it did. Look up their review on the Camaro ZL1 video. It got like 1:26 I believe?? But for some "odd" reason the best they could suddenly get for this comparison is 1:28.29?? Motortrend offered a explanation but I'm not sure as to why.
That's interesting. Auto vs manual I'd have to assume.

Anyway, one thing is clear. Despite higher entry level pricing for the SS vs the Mustang GT, performance for dollar, Camaro has it all over the Mustang up and down the line.

Motortrend logic:
Likes the GT350R because it's racey and harsh.
Dislikes viper ACR because it's racey and harsh

Ok
