Some surprising showings here...

Though this list is purely an academic excercise and I can't imagine it would influence any buying decisions. Motor Trend publishes Real MPG for all tested vehicles which you'd research when looking at a car anyway.

Quite an eclectic mix of outperformers. I wasn't shocked to see some smaller sports cars on the list, but the Hellcat and G63 were surprising.

The 2014 CTS Vsport would have been in 3rd place on this list!!
We can’t complain about the Vsport’s fuel efficiency, either. Although the EPA rates it at 16/24/18 mpg city/highway/combined, our Real MPG testing showed considerably better results of 19.9/27.4/22.7 mpg city/highway/combined. Under our editors’ lead feet, we recorded an average of 18.9 mpg at the pump, still beating the EPA’s combined number.

That's reassuring to hear! It's rare to see a turbo car that can actually outperform the EPA ratings. I had seen reports from the forum that seemed to confirm that it's capable of high 20s on the highway.
