I've watched quite a bit of old commercials on Youtube. That's right. These are all pretty awesome. Some celebrity appearances from Morgan Freeman, Robin Williams, William Shatner, etc.
These commercials are from before Apple swindled Xerox out of their new graphical computer system called PARC, which, 5 years later, would result in the first Mac. Also it was the year my house was built.
1975 TV commercials
Re: 1975 TV commercials
PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) was the location at which Xerox had developed the GUI that Apple subsequently visited and stole.kevm14 wrote: These commercials are from before Apple swindled Xerox out of their new graphical computer system called PARC, which, 5 years later, would result in the first Mac.
Fun fact, they also developed: WYSIWYG editors, Ethernet, and Laser printers.

Re: 1975 TV commercials
I think PARC was also the company name.Founded in 1970 as a division of Xerox Corporation, PARC has been in large part responsible for such developments as laser printing, Ethernet, the modern personal computer, graphical user interface (GUI) and desktop paradigm, object-oriented programming, ubiquitous computing, electronic paper, amorphous silicon (a-Si) applications, and advancing very-large-scale integration (VLSI) for semiconductors.

If you look at the commercial from certain angles, the Starfire looks like a really ugly Porsche.
