Buying these but not sure when I'll replace them. There is some minor seepage starting. I always forget there is the cooler to adapter gasket, but also adapter to timing cover gasket. I will buy them both and maybe assess next time I am in there. I will be pretty close from doing the thermostat though so it could make sense but I'd also have to combine with an oil change. It is 500 miles short of the interval so perhaps I should do that, too....

07 S550: oil cooler/housing gaskets
Re: 07 S550: oil cooler/housing gaskets
Funny enough to replace the cooler gasket in place, you'd have to pull the P/S reservoir. I was doing that anyway but I also wanted to replace the oil filter housing to timing cover gasket so I just removed the whole thing in one piece.
To do that, it was helpful to be into the cooling system to get that stuff out of the way. Also had to remove the serpentine belt, an idler pulley and the tensioner. 6 bolts but different lengths so I organized them in my new bolt organizer. It also makes muffins. Shown with no thermostat, oil filter housing or P/S reservoir. Nothing too tricky, just bolts. The old gasket was orange and the new ones were black. And it was helpful to have this out of the way to clean the thermostat gasket sealing surface.
Looks like I probably could have done the cam magnet adjusters since that area looks cruddy. Meh, some other time. Of course I probably have to pull most of this stuff off so I'll probably wait until it's actually leaking to bother.
Should be good for another 100k unless I have to pull this to do something else....
