2010 Tundra: Battery and lighting improvements

Post by kevm14 »

Battery ground was one of those crappy universal deals and it flaked out last night which cause a momentary panic. First we temporarily fixed it (with a nice, crimped lug) so I could drive home and then I bought a marine terminal, crimped and soldered a new ring terminal for the aux lights and installed all of that. Plus the Toyota dealer had all the missing battery hold down hardware for $25.

Finally, I bought and installed a more properly mounted push button switch for the aux lights. It looks great!

Oh and I ground the aux light brackets so the lights can be aimed down from the trees. And replaced the missing nut and washer on the pass side outer mount. Very satisfying.

Aimed the low beams with the level knob on 0 (the highest aim setting). Also aimed the aux lights down a bit. They do contact the grill which probably pulls their aim up a bit. But overall the lighting is more dialed in now. Still rocking LEDs in everything but the fogs.
