Adam will love this.
I found this while doing a search for cadillacs. Close.....
Mitsubishi Starion
Re: Mitsubishi Starion
Craigslist logic: "If you like Cadillacs, you'll love this 9-band graphic EQ, terrible electronic doo-dads and ridiculous seat belts."
How fast are these anyway? I think it's a 2.6L 4 cylinder. Were they even 200hp?

Probably felt quick in the 80's. The L69 in my Monte SS had similar power ratings.
Re: Mitsubishi Starion
True but it also didn't have turbo lag. Given identical power and torque ratings, I'll take the V8.
Re: Mitsubishi Starion
If it is like other 80's turbo cars, the turbo is tiny so it doesn't have much lag. Instead, it runs out of airflow in the upper RPM range.
Re: Mitsubishi Starion
Also the internet says the curb weight is 2970 lbs. About 270 lbs lighter than a Monte Carlo SS. Not too shabby.

Apparently the Starion suffered an engine failure during the test. Awesome!

Re: Mitsubishi Starion
Good news. The Starion is 4 better than a 2.8L V6 Camaro.
Re: Mitsubishi Starion
Is that because it looks exactly like a 3rd gen Supra? Now the Starion has the tidy look and the classy detailing of a driver's car.

If only the cars had fared so well. We experienced an annoying number of engine failures—more, in fact, than we'd seen in the past five years. The 300ZX expired suddenly with a broken valve stem a few days after top-speed testing. Fortunately, it was replaced with a fresh two-plus-two a few hours before our road -drive. The Station ESI went into terminal rod knock just after the first leg of mountain-road thrashing and seized up moments later. Despite the heroic efforts of the Mitsubishi public-relations department, the Station's replacement missed most of the hard-charging two-lane stuff.
