Nissan Juke Nismo RS

Post by kevm14 »

There are a couple of these at work. Well, not the RS, but the regular Nismo, I think.

I almost hate to admit this, but I actually like the driving experience of the Juke a lot. I had one for a rental (base model with CVT) and it was quite entertaining to drive. With the quick steering, scrappy handling and responsive turbo 4 made it a pretty fun experience.

All this is lame. What you need is a Nissan Juke-R. Its a Juke powered by a GT-R drivetrain.

You can watch the build on YouTube (I still need to finish them...)

It's actually a totally bespoke GT-R with a Juke body on it (the "price" gives that away). Doesn't really count as hot-rodding. Which is lame because if it were GM, they'd actually be able to cram their LS9 into whatever stupid micro-crossover they had. At least I'd like to think so (naturally).

It is exactly hot-rodding. Making the big motor fit in something it didn't come it (also the AWD system). They had to modify the drivetrain for length and width to fit into a smaller package and fabricate a floorpan to attach the body. Hardly a bolt-together deal. Of course it is expensive, they had to use a whole GT-R to build it. Nissan doesn't do crate motors like GM does.

It doesn't fit my definition of hot-rodding, and uses a turbo V6. In an era where the selection of a turbo V6 appears to provide no benefits that I can describe (as opposed to the 80s).
