Oh hell yes. I love me some Pobst driving and descriptive narration about what's happening. Not sure what the results will be but I assume the 1LE is still very competitive (if not still superior).

That 1LE package is fucking legit. Needs more marketing.

Just like I recently ranted about, GM has figured out how to efficiently put power down, without making an understeer machine (the front end bites well).

On the handling track, this thing didn't resort to oversteer nearly as much as the Mustang did. And when it was, it was totally controllable. In fact, you could stay committed to the throttle, fix the steering and it would drive out so beautifully.

Dare I say my CTS-V handles like that (imo). Which means they have more experience with handling than people realize.

Jesus...1:24.32 in the Mustang vs 1:22.81 in the 1LE. That is a slaughter. That's even worse than I would have expected.

When Ford engineers set off to begin development of the 2015 Mustang, several high-performance cars were set as benchmarks. The BMW M3, Nissan GT-R, and Porsche 911 were just a few. However, one significant car was ignored completely because those engineers felt the existing Mustang was "already superior" to it, so why bother wasting time. That car was the Chevrolet Camaro. Yep. There's plenty of competition among engineering teams.

I think Ford's only hope is that Chevy will pull a Ford and Mustang the new Camaro.

This is what happens when you make a vehicle for a market other than the market that made the vehicle.

So the Mustang was made for Europeans. But I thought Europeans liked handling.

To be completely fair, the Camaro SS was not praised for handling when it came out in 2010. But I'm honestly not sure Ford has the capability to deliver what GM is delivering, in terms of engineering the product and getting it to market for a very reasonable price.

2013 Mustang GT track pack ran a 1:25.77 on this track with Randy driving. So about 1.5s faster than the old one. But still 1.6s off the old 1LE.
