The only counterpoint I have that would contradict random bus voltage fluctuations is that it seems as though it works "best"/most often with the fan on high, and more intermittently on the lower fan speeds.

Chasing an intermittent electrical issue - on what seems to be like random (damp?) days the box truck will have an ABS warning light and no HVAC fan operation. Cold started this morning fine, but had a long crank after only like 3.5 hours of sitting. Weird

I have had at least a half-dozen long-cranking evolutions on the WK2, most evident when sitting 6+ hours. It became much more frequent in the last two weeks or so, where more than about 75% of cold starts it would act up. I pulled the fuel manifolds and fuel injectors out of the intake on both sides...

After 8+ years I finally installed my last indoor head in the basement yesterday. Seems to work fine. I sort of wanted to wait until codes had not reappeared so I wouldn't be troubleshooting a new install at the same time I still had an intermittent issue. Seems to be fine so far.

Subaru WRX guys and Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth guys seem to recommend RTV in lieu of something stiffer/harder. I do have some gray RTV in a caulk tube kicking around.

Still no CEL, so at least this one I think is "fixed".
