RCR: LQ4 Swapped Colorado
Re: RCR: LQ4 Swapped Colorado
I see some similarities here to myself. Computers first, then cars. Loves to see how things work, long before you actually need to look it up (builds a mental database which is invaluable).
I don't have anything that runs 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s or even 12s.
Love this - his wife came to his dyno days before they even met.
Speaking of 12s he hates guys who show up with something totally gutted and not really streetable, long tubes with no exhaust (unreasonably loud) and then lay down a 12. He makes that shit look so dumb.

I have been waiting for this. 460 whp on only 4.5 psi!!
589 whp at 10 psi.
650 whp at 13 psi.
706 whp at 15 psi.
This is on the new rings and trying out the Holley EFI system.

Re: RCR: LQ4 Swapped Colorado
He is winding down his Colorado project. At least in its current form. I guess the next project has something to do with a 4.8.
Here is a narrated history of what the build is, what it has done and so on. I enjoyed the part where he explains that unlike some of his older builds, this one actually works just fine running 140mph in the 1/4 mile in terms of both steering and stopping. Kinda funny because it's a small pickup.

There are a couple other videos that I will link as I watch them.

Re: RCR: LQ4 Swapped Colorado
He has a buddy drive it.

A recurring theme of this video is just how docile and drivable the truck is, despite the truck having run a 9.7 @ 140 or whatever.
Another recurring theme is that it reminds him of the way a sport bike delivers power, in terms of just feeling like an animal and effortless.
He has it turned down to 10 psi and the driver commented that it would have "no problem walking on like a 600."

His 4.8 experiment in the Colorado.

500+ tire. Thing makes over 500 tire from 95-120 mph on the dyno in 3rd gear. That'll push you back in your seat.
