- Nicely splits the chassis difference between the gen 5 and gen 6
- Save a solid $5k and possibly more for equivalent mileage/condition, I think
- Most likely the depreciation will be better than either
- Performance you can access, though the gen 6 probably is more approachable than the ZL1
- More simple vehicle, though a gen 6 1SS probably isn't too bad unless you detract points for the direct injection on the LT1
- And yeah the 1LE is more special and rare - I care about this, you may not
- Chassis wise, the Gen 6 is best., 1LE is probably as close as the Gen 5 gets.
- 5K is about the split in cost, if the 1LE can ever be found...
- 1LE depreciation will likely be less than 2016 regular SS, ZL1 is still to be seen as it has already depreciated 20K I think there is still more to go, but I don't think they will ever be less than 12-15K.
- Still think gen 6 is best overall (not by much over the ZL1 though)
- Gen 6 has like 35 coolers (oil, trans)
- I am not looking to drive a car just because it is a unicorn. To put it another way, the ZL1 is still awesome even if there are way more than the 1LE. That doesn't bother me at all.

The Z/28 is an amazing track car. The ZR1 really isn't a track car at all. It is comfortable, refined, etc. The Z/28 has a single mission. The 1LE is like....a tame version of the Z/28 kind of. The ZL1 is more of a conventional power/muscle setup which is great but I love the focus and practicality of the 1LE without going just bonkers dedicated track toy as the Z/28 does.

So here's another Corvette analogy. I love the C6 ZR1 and I think actually the Camaro ZL1 is similar in some ways. That said, the best Corvette to drive is the C7 Grand Sport. That is the 1LE formula.

Grand Sport with an LT1 ran a 2:47.1. That's utterly ridiculous. AND it's enjoyable to drive, not just a monster at numbers.

Gen 6 SS 1LE with the same LT1 ran 2:54.8. I forgot where I was going with this except that things that are modeled like that Grand Sport formula are what I really respect.

Oh, I know. The Grand Sport is "just a Z06 with an LT1" the way a 1LE is "just a ZL1 with an LS3" except somehow that isn't actually true in practice - they are both greater than the sum of their parts. I like that.

- Agreed
- Haha, yeah
- Barring special factors, the more expensive car will depreciate worse. I don't see any special factors here unless everyone revolts against the gen 6 and drives up gen 5 ZL1 prices as a result. Highly doubtful.
- Sure
- Nice
- Ok

Another sort of feel argument against the LSA is the rev limit which is a low 6,200 rpm and is quite abrupt. The LS3 is 6,600 and I think much less abrupt. It's not a sports car engine, FWIW.

You sure it's a 1LE? I mean it looks like one.

Also, picture 21 is a huge indictment of the visibility.

Also, Bill would tell you he prefers the 2013 and prior tail lights, all things equal. This is a fair price though.

He probably doesn't like the red, either.

It says 1LE in the description where it lists all the RPO codes.

It’s also CPO so there’s that.
