Re: Mercedes E63S thread
Going to get it fixed at Jim's Rims. He quoted some prices on the phone that sounded reasonable, and they might have it turned around tomorrow if I bring it now. Refinishing sounded reasonable, as well, for future reference. At this point I've lost over a month of service to this issue. I may have another month+ of usage as long as they don't salt the roads. That would be nice.kevm14 wrote: Sat Oct 04, 2025 12:58 pm My options are;
- fix at a wheel specialist and optionally refinish the wheel
- find a used wheel
- use this opportunity to push forward with the forged front wheels that I have been searching for and cannot find used
I'm leaning toward the last one but my only option might be dealer refinished which is very expensive. And I should probably do tires.
Re: Mercedes E63S thread
$249 for crack repair. I dropped it off. Should be ready tomorrow.
This style would be $249 to refinish or $349 if they have to send it out for machining.

Re: Mercedes E63S thread
Drove it in. Seems ok.
The place was a hole in the wall and seemed disorganized. First they asked if my AMG 19" had a center cap or not. I said yes. Then they brought out a black center cap and said "this one right?". Nope. They went back in the shop. Another 10 minutes and they roll out a just fixed AMG 19". Only problem was, this wasn't my wheel. But it did have my tire on it. They realized it but wanted me to confirm. They rolled that one back in and then proceeded to probably actually repair my wheel (nearing 5pm at this point), as I was hearing the distinct sound of TIG welding. Hopefully workmanship was not compromised. They also located my center cap. So in the end it got done but they need to be more organized.
I still need to get the invoice because their printer wasn't working.

Re: Mercedes E63S thread
He texted me the invoice. Tires seem to have smoothed out after sitting for 5 weeks. I'm pleased with the results. Hope it holds.
